Collagen Implants

Zyderm® and Zyplast® collagen implants are a fast, safe, non-surgical way to reduce the appearance of facial lines, wrinkles and acne scars. Collagen can also be used to enhance thinning lips. After just one treatment session, you see immediate, visible results.

Zyderm and Zyplast collagen implants are natural substances derived from highly purified bovine (cow) collagen. They are injected just beneath the skin’s surface. Most people have the procedure and return to work the same day. The results of treatment usually last from 3 to 6 months. Then it begins to be broken down by the natural enzymes in your skin.

If treatments are discontinued at any time, the injected collagen is simply re-absorbed over time and the skin gradually returns to its natural contours. Before treatments begin, a simple skin test is performed on your forearm to determine if you are sensitive to the collagen implants. Approximately 97% of women and men tested show no reaction to the skin test and are eligible for treatment.
